(October 2021. I got dumped and was sad around Santa Cruz for a while. I wrote this while high and happy and thinking and healing at Davenport Beach, my favorite beach I’ve ever been to. This poem was written in a pair with Neoconservatism.)
Neoliberalism is the sabotage of liberalism,
Liberation’s own language leveled
Against liberation, the slow secession
Of corporation from democracy
Aided and abetted by those well-off
Enough to understand the world and
Too comfortable to change it.
