(November 2021. I had $4 left. So, I left the bus in Arizona, hitchhiked all the way to Louisiana in 3 days with my backpack and my puppy, and linked up with Christian. We spent a few days around NOLA before driving home to Massachusetts after almost a year out West.)
sitting mud deposit city looking beyond the bridge
water and many layers of clouds and storms,
gray breaking open to blue with the wind with the wind
and a pelican flying and fish jumping
from water both gray and blue—
there is a rainbow near the water in the gray far away.
for a moment i long beyond sight seeing
the little spots in my vision
which are not the vision out there
but a vision on the other side
of a scratched lens, myself.
there is some knowledge that burns
a self like sun-spots.
i am always dreaming, and only for now,
and the clouds are moving with the wind
and the world is blue at best.
i love that i can see, and what,
and a fish leaps at an angle
and the rainbow reaching
arches farther upward
as clouds retreat and reveal
all creation as revelation.
