(May 2022. Decentralized poem with Kinneret, myself, a guy who’s name I forget who was playing guitar, and PJ. PJ lemme know what that guy’s name is when you see this. One thing I really love about this poem is how PJ’s ending feels a lot like my own writing, with here and now and always being some of my favorite words in poems. I love how universal that is, that he accessed the same thing separately.)
Here I am, with eight strong hands
some of a woman and some of a man
Here I am, and everywhere else too
Everyone and everything, inside this living room
she wears the waves
painted like a sweatshirt
strumming silver
picking time along a string
all of us create a semi circle
a reserved smile, humble and proud
laughing and thinking
feeling and yearning
living and learning
worthy and worthless
hurried and reeling
turning, swerving
slowing, stopping
silent, still
here
still. now,
and always
