(June 2022. Driving the bus from LA to Colorado for Rainbow. Stopped at a lovely BLM spot just outside Mesa Verde. Home again in the juniper desert. Classic short Aidan perspective channeling poem reminiscent of swamp poem (i). For Libby, who whittled me the spoon necklace.)
as the sun sets over mesa verde
i am home as green faces
of the soft edges of southwestern rock
viewing the sunset pacing my roof
home next to the juniper trees
and the blue seeds and the brown
seeds around my neck and
the juniper spoon of the whittled way
seeing the sunset and the juniper
lost in thoughts of myself
and of everything else
viewing the light as we change
addicted to this vision of myself
of as in from and of as in to
