(February 2023. Brought Laser (who built daopoetry) to meet Billy & friends in Koreatown (the people I had the most collaborative poetry experience with). AGI apocalypse was on the mind. This collaborative poem turned out pretty fire. We went in a circle. Stanza-wise, I wrote the prompt starter, Matt Salort wrote clanking, Billy wrote Buggered, Laser wrote Axical (one of his finest), I wrote grace (I’m VERY proud of this stanza), and Matt wrote the final stanza, which came out absolutely fire and had to be the ending.)
when the second coming comes,
will we be coming with?
clanking and hankering and hungering for
gruel drooling driveling monstrous filth vile
but something good
Buggered gray noble shuffler dragging beard
and purse alike down near an ankle washed
and scrubbed by augmented hands
Axical fantastical moving whips down the
lead of mind matter slipping slipping past
Sheaths of ray streaming
grace show me the sight of all sights
at once the night is flush with forms
sliding along the edges of my eyes
curved to the shape of the stars
and our children’s children
hope the second doesn’t come
because the second it does
we’ll miss the first
how can it ever live up to the first
the second carrying all the burden of
expectation
