Salt Lake City Airport

(March 2023. Flown out to Utah to start driving the red bus, but turned out to be a false alarm; bus wasn’t actually ready yet and wouldn’t be finished for weeks. So we sorta flew out for no reason lol. But Josh and Sam and I made the most of it and had a fun day in Ogden, Utah, living out our own little Tarantino film. Then we all flew back to where we came from lol. This was written at the airport.)

Salt Lake City Airport

The west at a crossroads— the promised land lake drying up—
The salt of the earth gasping, a thinning boundary between desert and sky…

The evaporation of hope reveals a horizon

Which way, western man? The true west is beyond direction!
A port for animals who move fastest through air,
Planes to higher planes over plains

(The difference in possibility space of spheres,
Radii defined by the height of the tip of my head
And the wideness implied by however high we might fly,
Minus and plus the thick muchness of the girthy earth)
